I have the police scanner on, so I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I did see cops up near Motomart / Walmart (On 63) area when I went to get food...

So far there has only been talk on the Phelps County sheriff freq. and nothing special on the Rolla freq.

bag is making up stories again, just like the burgerking on fire.

I know Rolla is boring, but falsifying or inventing stories just makes it more depressing.

Big night in Rolla; the only call to come into the station they mentioned over the radio was a barking dog in the area of 409 somewhere (Crab tree I think I heard?)...

He's not making it up. I saw them going east past TJ on 63, then turning around and going west on 44.

Well, if they made it to the interstate, then it isn't that surprising that not much else was heard on local scanners.

RPD runs dispatch for nearly all police departments in the Phelps county area. This does not include UPO or Highway Patrol. Neighboring counties also use point to point channels to communicate with other counties. So we can pretty much hear all the surrounding stations. I often hear Laclede, Crawford, Dent, Pulaski, and sometimes Maries county.

If you do you use a scanner, Rolla State is highway patrol. 'Central' refers to Rolla City's central dispatch, which is used by most departments. S&T refers to UPO. Between UPO dispatch and Central, there is a hotline. So all the dispacher at either end has to do is pick up the phone and the other end starts ringing. Also, there is a mutual assist channel that every department switches to when they are participating in a multi department situation, such as a chase.
