About 3 miles south of Rolla, a brutal collision involving at least one semi, and several smaller motor vehicles occurred today. I don't know much more about it, but seeing 6-7 ambulances speeding out of town at about 7:20 this morning leads me to believe that someone may have died. If you know more, post it here.

was it at the construction zone. Cuse if so, that could hurt my chances of getting out of a speeding ticket there.
Have a heart, you selfish bastard.
Okay, i hate to see injuries. but if it was http://www.mshp.dps.mo.gov/HP68/Acciden ... M=A045394I this then nobody died...not that i looked at that before the heartless comment. Doesnt say what made him run off the road initially though.

That is the same accident. All I knew was that the driver of one of the Rolla Public School Buses saw it happen. The report doesn't include the Semi hitting a house. In fact, that report is pretty vague. Still, someone was airlifted out of the area and is in serious condition. I'd say that could mean he almost died, especially since it happened in an Isuzu Trooper, possibly one of the most unsafe vehicles ever made, and he wasn't wearing his seatbelt.

I worked on that crash reports website for my summer job at the Highway Patrol 2 years ago - so its good to see people get use out of it. Its amazing how many of the fatalities are because they weren't wearing a seatbelt (although I guess its impossible to know whether or not a seatbelt would have saved them - though my money is on yes). It's also interesting how most of the accidents involving people over 70 or so are all caused by the old person....

"Hey, I guess they're right. Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. I'll be right back. Don't you go dying on me!"

Dumb and Dumber FTW
If it's not an old person who causes it, it's some douchebag on their cell phone.
I'm sure in each case they might have bumped and hurt their heads, perhaps some glass cuts, but alive...

I always use a seatbelt since it's already saved my life once
Details? To help drive home the point of wearing a seatbelt (if you wish)...

Ditto.....even if I'm just moving my car from say the driveway to the garage after washing it, just out of habit, I put on my seatbelt. Anyone who doesn't wear one is a moron IMO. I was in an accident awhile back, I don't think I would have had any major injuries had I not been wearing it as it was a pretty minor crash (enough to total my car though) but I definitely think the seatbelt saved me from having any injuries. I walked away without a scratch.
