Yes, I know there's plenty of rental threads, but I need a little more specific help. Our apartment complex was apparently foreclosed and they're going to be kicking all the tenants out, so my wife and I need a place, soon. Anyone who's had experience with large 1 bedroom or normal sized 2 bedroom places that can help would be appreciated.

We're looking for an upgrade from where we live right now (Oak Ridge apartments behind Kap Sig), so central air and a dishwasher are a must, laundry hookups and a garage are a plus. We'll also sacrifice size for a new(er) place. Trying to stay under $500 a month. If you guys have experience or a working relationship with local landlords, we'd appreciate all the help we get.

No. Funny thing is, I know the other two tenants of that building. If I moved in there, I would know everyone there, so it's something to think about. But then again, it is Investment Realty. Already dealt with them once.

Hmm well my place is 2 bedroom if you guys need a place to stay on short notice. I'm not sure if long term would be an option, seeing as how i have a dog but its actually fairly big inside. If you wanna talk about it let me know.

We appreciate the offer. Actually, one of the guys I know in your building is moving out at the end of this month, so could you PM me some info like rent, what you paid for utilities, things like that?

Bah, turns out they don't have any of your building available, but right behind yours in building B they do.

Here's a layout I made of my new place. Pretty decent for 325 a month w/ pet. Utilities average 65-85 a month, with a high of around 114 at peak ussage. Average in the internet and I'm looking at 450-475 a month.

I'm fairly interested in looking to get a roommate but I've got to be pretty picky with that since I have a dog and allot of nice things. Either way, i see this place as still cheaper then where i live now.

Was it just your particular building or is it all the buildings? That's a lot of people getting booted if it's the whole place.

Hey, I'm moving out of my 2 bedroom, 2 bath this weekend. It has washer/dryer, pretty good size, in good condition, and is only 450 a month. It's in Aston place, and is owned by Brown Realty. Send me a message if you want to come see it, or if you want more info. Oh, and it's out by Country Mart, so it's a convient location.

Whole complex. We got another message lately from the potential new owners that they're "Going to make the switch as smooth as possible, and blah blah blah blah," but we just don't want to mess with it. We were planning on moving closer to campus and upgrading to a little nicer place anyway, so this gives us an excuse to.

I live in some quadplexes out by the junior high. managed by Herrman Shields LLC. Great place, rent is 475-500 a month 2 bedroom, decent size living room and kitchen, central air, 1.5 bath, laundry hook ups. utilities are all electric and through RMU, never been over 210. that is with my pc on 24/7, xbox 360 + 37" lcd hdtv on for quite a few hours a day, and 3 ppl showering (gf liked my shower better).

Apartments are nice. Strict no smoking policy, nice carpet, good size rooms. definitely worth checking out. close to Landstra too. Who knows if that's actually a plus

Oh, God no... ;) Just kidding.

Actually, thanks everyone that helped. We found a place through Brown Realty. We're living in the Lexington Place apartments out on Vichy. Brand new (we're the first tenants), great amenities. Seemed like nice people, too. When we toured a couple of apartments that Investment held, it reminded us why we quit renting through them in the first place.
