Several of you I'm sure have heard the stories of thieves in Rolla. Breaking into someones car to steal sub woofers or a apartment to get things like computers or someones TV. All to often the person gets away with it and we're left holding the bag after the cops say they can't/won't do anything.

How many of you guys have heard this? It's fucking sick the shit that these people get away with.

Well as many of my friends know, I go all over the country sometimes on road trips. My latest trip, to Trenton, NJ was pretty uneventful until my car ride back to Rolla. The trip itself was pretty short, I left Tuesday morning and got back this morning (Thursday) only to find someone who i thought was a good friend of mine to be a dirty thief.

He broke into my basement around 5 AM only to trip a alarm and wake my dog up. The idiot not only fucked up there but he tried to do this when my girlfriend was there sleeping. Never the less the guy manages to get into my basement and then spends his time opening up a barricade on my basement door, I can only assume to haul out my stuff through without attracting attention.

So after my girlfriend gets woken up with all the noise, she calls 911 who promptly send a couple officers over to arrest the idiot right there in my basement.

Now facing felony charges for 1st degree burglary and spending 24 hours in jail. I guess I can only expect that he'll also be expelled from MST over this and its a shame because I thought he was an okay guy.

I couldn't believe that when I got back to Rolla and went to the police station that he was the guy who did it. What a fucking ASS HOLE!!! Of all the people I thought you had more fucking respect then to become a THIEF!

Not only will you now face Felony charges but your also going to be expelled over this and for what? If you needed money why weren't you asking your friends to help you out in finding it! All you had to do was ask and I would have set you up nicely with something but instead you decide to take it. I can't believe your that low.

I've learned my lesson of posting my trips on Facebook and to be stupid enough to post my address and other information.

The fact that you have to be that careful sucks something awful, though. Give me a holler if you want to hit the bar.

On the other note, I always fucking hated that guy. I'd see him at bars and frat parties all the time and he always creeped me the fuck out. If I ever went with a girl he'd awkwardly dance up to her and try to chat her up. Fuckin' weirdo.

I'm actually surprised that Investment Reality is doing so much to my apartment now that this has happened. He got into the basement through one of their mistakes (a unlocked maintenance door). I guess they knew that they would have been responsible for anything happening so they've had a entire crew of 8 guys here putting all this stuff in to make sure this doesn't happen again and adding a ton of new security to my place.

I also had to spend $450 today getting my girlfriend a pistol for protection. I was actually supposed to be home that morning at 4am that same day but the friend i work and drove with was to tired to take her turn driving the last bit to Rolla so we never made it. If we did get there and he still broke in I'm really afraid what might have happened because my friend and I both carry and throwing guns in that mix really would have escalated things and if he did what he did to my girlfriend and tried to break through the bedroom door to stop her from calling 911 my friend or I wouldn't have hesitated to use force in a circumstance like that.

seriously, you should be careful about what you say about people.
he hasn't been convicted, and he can sue you for libel/slander/defamation/etc.
if he does get kicked out of school, he can account that loss due to this post.

I asked the dispatcher if I could post that report and she said that information is open to the public.

Now please tell me how any this could be put into any slander suit? He was caught by the police in my apartment trying to break through a door that my girlfriend was behind when she was calling 911. he cant deny that, its on the 911 tape. Its not like there is a trail of breadcrumbs leading to his house... he was in my house caught red handed. Even so, i just said exactly what happened.

I told the facts... i provided proof to those facts which anyone can go check for themselves. As for getting him expelled? by law the police department have to notify the university when they arrest a student and getting charged with a FELONY is definitely something that they'll pass along. So if he gets expelled, its not going to be because they heard this from me but because they heard straight from the police.

Thanks for the warning though RobertD, I'm not wanting to make that sound like a counter-attack. I know exactly what I can and cant do with what i know.

What an asshole. My dad has always nagged me to never say when I go on vacation, even to friends (because sometimes the word gets around to someone untrustworthy). So did he actually get any of your stuff, or was he apprehended before he could make off with any of it? Was he armed?

Glad both you and the GF are alright, and that she now has a way to protect herself - just make sure she practices and has it with her (as i'm sure you know the best protection is the one you have on you at the time it's needed)
