I have tried to get Dr. Carroll as my teach for mech E Mat before. I got Philpot last semester and I gave up after a month. I have had Dr. Carroll for Statics, his teaching style is great, I recommend him for any class. I want him for MechEmat and the registrar won't tell me what class he teaches. please if anyone has taken his Mech E Mat class tel me what time he teaches, it's the same every semester so if you have had him for IDE 110 tell me what time. THANKS

I had him last spring at 9-10 MWF and i think he taught another class at 8 before that. I hear ya, Philpot kicked my ass the first time, along with the asses of lots of my friends. Dr Carrolls IDE 110 class also has a distance section over the computer, so if you're registering for 110 and see a section scheduled as 'arranged' on Joe SS then its a distance section you can take online, but the tests for the distance section will always be at 7 in the morning.

Try sending him an email along the lines of:
"Hi Dr. Carroll, I really respected you as a teacher, and had you for statics [in semester/year]. I heard a rumor that you were teaching one of the IDE 110 classes this semester, and would really like to try to find myself into your class again. Could you send me the time or section number that you'll be teaching next semester? I understand that you may not necessarily be able to do this, but I would realy appreacate it because I loved your class so much before. "
It's cheezy and a bit brown-nosy, but it should work for you pretty well.
