I am just curious how many people think berto powertrips and deletes or edits posts.

All in good fun of course.

I'm going to leave it up for giggles considering I haven't modded for 3 months since today.

This crap just gets annoying. I've got a solution!!! See if you can implement a Reputation system in these forums. I've seen it done well in others w/ Rep points. The more you have the more your green bar fills under your name, the more Neg Rep you get lower it goes even into the negative (red bars)

Base point of 1 for new members, plus 1 for every 600 Rep points, 1 for every 6 months a member has been registered and 1 for every 800 posts someone has.

So new members can only give/take 1, older members like Ryan would give/take 15-20 points. Only the members who contribute get any power and only those who deserve it will show high Rep.

Really it doesn't matter whether we get it or not. Way back when, people thought that posts count (and the title you got) was some type of honor. I'm glad that's over with but I've seen this work pretty well on some of my other forums and it's a neat thing to see those who SPAM or contribute get what they deserve.

What forum did it work on? Because I know of at least 1 or 2 that it didn't work on at all.

ssssshhhhh don't ruin the thread.

on slickdeals it works decently, but they put a lot of effort into it to make sure it can't be abused... and I don't think there are enough users here that care enough to make it work. You'd see 1-3 people scratch each others' backs to the top, then it would sort of die down.

I would so be one of those 1-3 people.

and I probably would be one of the first to let it die down

Man you kids have it easy. During my reign (of terror?), half of these threads wouldn't have even existed. I abused my powers like it was going out of style. Sometimes it was justified, sometimes it wasn't. I wouldn't have chosen the Chank/Berto combo if I didn't think they were capable of running Seek42. Just remember the next time you get your post deleted or edited, it's not that bad, at least you're not getting "pwned by heretic".
