What about the "let someone else build it for you" avenue? I can build custom (got a plethora of tools and a truck for transport) if he's got something in mind he can't find elsewhere.

Where does the guy live? I've got a loft that I built which fits TJ South beds which has been sitting in my basement for a year and a half. It even comes with a ladder and roll-bar for those who have a tendency to roll off the bed!

I have an old one I used in the quad. Got a picture somewhere, can find it if you're interested. It's nothing fancy at all, somewhat shoddy, but it gets the job done. I'd have to make sure all the pieces are still accounted for, but I would let this go for VERY cheap if the cheap route is what you're looking for.
