Does it work? I'm about as noobish as it gets when it comes to guns. Can you still get ammo for it? If so, where and for how much?

I'd love to have the rifle that Vassili Zaitsev used.

this question wasnt aimed at me, but i know the answers to at least half of these questions, i think, lol. an M44 uses the 7.62x54R cartridge, you can buy these at a lot of places. one in particular is the gun shop all the way down 10th street out of rolla. they arent very expensive, last time i looked they were less than 10 dollars a box.

these really are great guns, i wish i had some money cus id buy it in a heartbeat. but alas, i am broke.

I started collecting these after I saw them at shows a few years ago. Cheap toys.

My offer of $75 still stands, but I'm not really willing (or able) to go higher. I have a lot of electronics gadgetry if you may be interested in a trade, though.

These guns are really sweet. At the place I worked in high school we had barrels of them sitting in the middle of the store. The longer M91 something ones were used as sniper rifles, same as what was used in Enemy at the Gates.
