My fiancee has one that would probably work. I'll have to check on the model and exact specs of it, but it's a Dell with (I think) a 2.8 gHz Celeron processor.
All right, I'm posting this from the aforementioned laptop. It's an Inspiron 1150 with a 2.6 GHz Celeron, 512 MB of RAM, and a DVD+RW drive. Interested?

trup and colossians, can you both post a price? Also, is there any way I could try to mount my hard drive and see if it works before I buy? It's just two external screws and the drive pops out, no disassembly required.
I just now found out my father-in-law has bid on a video card on eBay in an attempt to fix my laptop, so I have to see how that works out before I commit anyway. I do still want to pursue you guys laptops as an option.
Thanks.

I may be interested in buying or trading for the old broken unit. Let me know what is wrong with it (I assume it will have no HD) and what you want for it in cash or trade. A blown MB or cracked screen are not dealbreakers for me. Also, can you please get me the Service Tag listed on the bottom of the computer? I can look up all the specs. Also, has anything been changed since it was bought as the specs on the Dell site reflect the original config or changes made by Dell.

Collosians3, I have a few questions.
Does the laptop have internal wireless, or will I have to buy one of those USB wireless adapters? Some of the info online was ambiguous.
Does it come with the AC adapter?
Do you know what video card comes in it? If I'm reading right, it's got an integrated graphics adapter instead of a separate graphics card.
Thanks.
trup5221, what's the price on your laptop? I think the specs on yours are better than on the other one, and the video card driver I've got installed on my hard drive should work for your card, so it's more likely I won't have to swap programs, and can just swap drives instead.
Thanks.

I have an HP Pavilion ze5500 for sale. It is not a gaming rig by any means, but comes with a copy of Windows XP. The internal wireless card is on the fritz, so you will probably need to buy a PCMCIA card or a replacement internal one (they designed it to be removable), or I could throw in the one I have.. Has a CD-R / DVD ROM, etc., etc. If you are interested, PM me.

I'm pretty sure my Dell hard drive with the Dell version of Windows installed wouldn't work on an HP laptop. I'm hoping to just swap my HD into the laptop I buy and not have to reinstall all the programs I have. Thanks anyway.
