this part here is to list out the parts and supplies im looking for in order to build a little project. -welding gloves -welding goggles -steel tongs -old propane tanks or new that wont be used(since ill be cutting them) -steel skimmer -car wheel(preferably one without chrome or other coatings) -gas and oil valves -gas lines -the steel cylinder thats on the inside of a water heater -any other type of steel cylinders -rebar -scrap aluminum, iron, brass, copper, steel(note i may want to have this all put together and working before i take large amounts of scrap) -refactory material preferably between 1500 degrees F and 3000 degrees F -firebrick -air blower -old oxygen or helium tanks etc -fine mesh screen -an electric motor that ill need to reduce to 25-35 RPM
at the moment dont really have much money to be spending so trying to find as much of it as possible for free. i know that for a few things that may not be a possibility which i understand and will have to find a way. either ill have to find the cash somehow or trading which is customary among us. its too late tonight for me to go and get the specs on a bunch of computers and such so ill be editing tomorrow after class, possibly other things to we'll see what i find.
edit:guess im now looking for a hangboard note im in stl at the moment and its looking like ill be down for st. pats, atleast thats the plan at the moment. so hopefully it wont be a problem to hold the items until that time that i can come and get them.
edit2: got some computer parts for sale, trade, give, etc u know the drill. also as modernmystic had been talking in a previous post about the warehouse i had 10 comps from it that i was going to put up but the guy whos mother worked at the warehouse showed up the night i was gathering the info on them to post and asked for them back to link together in parallel to utulize their processing speeds. so if they come back to me they will be put up on here. anyways here is a list of stuff for the moment -couple of modems -6ish agp video cards probably not more than 128mb -network cards, some have a coaxial connection -sound cards -vertical pentium 2 processor -2 intel pentium pros -3m 2209 disposable wrist straps, got a bunch of them -different fans and or heatsinks -possibly some ide cables -cd rom drives
thats all that i can find at the moment. if u think of something that might sound like it would be with a ton of old computer stuff ask and it might jog my memory as to wear i hid it.

pretty much. i kind of want to melt metal. really enjoyed the me 153 i think was the class down there and also the welding class i took. i may be a EE but metal is fun, besides the minor i need to finish.
I hear you. I'm a EE/CS, but that isn't stopping my Geology friend and I from building a blacksmithing forge. It's never a bad idea to develop practical skills, no matter what your "influence" is.
i know its dangerous ive already learned how to cut them fairly safely. as far as just posting how it was pointed out some legal safety issues. however if someone asks then after i do it and have no injuries except maybe a cut from a rough edge of steel then i might tell the individual with the understanding that i hold no responsibility if they get injured etc etc. the donut tires might work, ill take them off your hands to try it. thank you.
