Is Music 50 the number for Music Theory? If so, I've taken both and found both to be interesting. I enjoyed Music Theory more being more interested in music. I found it to be harder than Psych concept-grasping-wise. In contrast, Psych 50 is fairly easy and you learn some pretty cool stuff. Overall, I can't say you could go wrong with either choice assuming you like both categories.
Once again, I'm assuming 50 = Theory and not Appreciation. I'm too lazy to look it up. If it is Music Appreciation, I've heard it sucks and you'd probably be better off with Psych 50.

If you do go with psych 50, ask around about professors before signing up. I had spurlock and it was interesting at times, but most of the time it was was quite boring. I would think that krueger would be good, but I'm not sure if she teaches psych 50.
sorry I haven't taken music 50, so I can't really say which is easier, although I can say that psych 50 is a pretty easy class.
If you take psych 50 get Marilyn Kreuger (sp?) she's awesome and the class is pretty interesting. The tests are easy as pie. Basically show up to class, fill in the blanks on her notes, read over the notes, pass the test with an A.
