The power in my room just went out. Was this a building wide occurance or was it just a local thing to my room?

since that last response didnt really answer your question...it was raining rather hard and a lightning bolt hit rather close...so it was a building wide thing

maybe we need to spend our hirc funds on one giant backUPS system for the projects...boy howdy, that would be a huge mother

I totally agree on the posted hours of power outages. I lost my entire /home directory! I was able to restore from a backup I made last week, but that's not gonna help me retrive my cs234 program I just spent 4 hours writing right before the power went out.

Someone needs to write a letter to the Miner with a list of the demands. At the same time, they need to highlight how frat boys are gay, how dormies never leave their computers, and how James Seville is trying to create the Fourth Reich on campus. Why leave any bases uncovered?

If you are really concerned about power failures you always can go buy an UPS system, its saved my twice this semester alone, when the other lights go out my comp and monitor stayed on, and also the tv and console systems.

Ryan, you need to set the clock on Seek 42. Right now, it's about an hour off.

It's your fault for not using a journaling filesystem.
