I meant this to be in the other forum Frat Parties Suck in which a bunch of frat guys were lamenting the fact that they can't hold open parties. However, being the computer incompetent that I am, and being as that was my first message on seek 42, I screwed it up and put it in it's own forum. I know about GDI, this was just a suggestion to those boys so that their parties will be more like the open, social parties that GDI and the independent houses host. I like how many people go to frat parties, and the larger dance space, but all that happens is a lot of bumping and grinding and drunks groping you. At the open parties, there tend to be more people who you can stand around and bullshit with, and drunken 3 a.m. deep conversations are the best part of parties.
yeah frat parties DO suck, but are about as sucky as any parties i've been to here in rolla.
i have always had more fun hanging out at my own house on a non party weekend, or even if there is a party at our house, than going to an OFFICIAL party at another house.
there have been the rare instances when i would go my friend's greek house becuase they are having a closed social (but since i know my friend i get in) and its a lot more fun becuase thre's less people.
the problem is, when you get that many people into a house, the rolla odds take effect, and the next thing you know you are hitting on a fat chick, you can't hear anything she's saying, and she isn't interested in the first place.
the only times i ever go to another fraternity's house part is when i am completely sloshled and i just feel like starting shit (which never usually happens). and i usually end up walking home from KA (which is a long walk from 12th street).
BUT i'd say they're better than not having them. its also a good way to meet guys at other houses who i would under other circumstances never even talk to
