Who do we piss and moan to so that the AC will be turned back on? It may be Nov, but it is still scalding in the rooms. I know about the whole hot water heater prob, but now it is over and we need some release from the heat!
Are you SICK?... God forbid you open a window and take in some semi-fresh air... The AC is hardly necessary at the scalding temperatures of 65. Flip on a fan and get over it. Cripes.

I don't know about you, but between my roomate and I we have enough computers generating so much heat that just having the window wide open is not enough, I say turn the AC on!
At this point, the outside air will flow through the room bringing in the cool air from the big outside place.
And if you think that 65 degrees is too hot, spend a summer in Texas or Arkansas. You'll learn what real heat is. :^P

Ok simple minded f00. My door and window is constantly open and its still hot. Being near the top of tower even makes it hotter. Oh and for your little theory to work, there must be WIND. I 2nd the AC idea.
I lived on 10 S for a year, back before it went to Voyager. So yes, I do know what it was like being at the heat sink of the building. It's not the best of places. But, there is the other end of the spectrum. Its getting below 40 degrees at night. TJ Hall is an old building [skips technical blather about pipes etc.] so we've pretty much gotta live as a community and do what we can. There are other options. For instance, turning off the AC does NOT imply turning on the heat. Like I said, I've lived there, I know what its like. At the same time, can you do things to reduce the temperature in your room? For instance, someone said they have six computers. The AMD machines are like having a 150Watt light bulb turned on in your room. Maybe you could turn it off whenever you're not using it? If that's not practical, then you should consider the fact that it is your own responsibility to take care of yourself when your own hobbies, interests, etc. give you a disadvantage.
An example:
A decent hunter won't complain about the cold while he's waiting in the blind, he just buys shit to make him warmer. You've got the opposite problem. Your hobby causes you to make your habitat warm. Perhaps you should invest in a fan. This is the best time of year to get one, too.
On a final note, while l don't understand exact fluid mechanics of how it works, I do know for a fact that almost every time I open my windows, I have to prop the door open to keep it from slamming shut. Even on calm days it still closes due to an air draft. It's no Hurricane Andrew, but then again, that would impede any progress on your homework.
Just some food for thought,
Diesel
P.S., while I hate the building, we are in this together. Any chance we could find a mutually agreeable solution? It may not be implemented, but to at least FIND one would be amazing.

maybe its different in north tower, but definitely no tornado over here. i really dont mind the ac being off....im just pointing out your oh so great window/door thing doesnt always work and you should quit assuming it does.
it's not hot here, and I don't have any AC
I DO however have a 10000RPM hard drive that you could fry an egg on, a 21" monitor that you could fry the bacon on, and a 600W Digital Reciever to make the pancakes. My room gets HOT. But I just open the window, put a fan in her, and 30 minutes later, viola. Cool.
If I can do it, you can do it!
BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES.
