Is it just me or is BE20 being a pain in the ass this semester?
All i heard from the people that took it last semester was how easy it was, how it was a guarnteed A, and how no one ever had to do any homework. Yesterday i spent more time working on those stupid memos, morphological charts, and concept variant sketches than i spent studying/doing homework for Calc II or Physics.
And, my instructor, Grantham seems to have a rod up her ass. If an assignment is turned in 5 mintues after class starts, 30% off.
Yeah, i know i'm bitching alot about this, it just seems like this is a PITA on top of my harder classes, exept i'm really not learning anything in BE20......

I had Flori last semester, and there honestly wasn't any real homework. A couple of memos, evenly distributed amongst the group members, but that's it. My guess is it has to do with the teacher, but I don't really know.

Flori tought BE10, and BE10 is Very Easy. BE20 was a lot more work than BE10 but it wasn't hard. You just have to put time into it (a commodity in short supply).

I had Raney for BE20 in FS02, and yeah, it was an easy A. Unfortunately, I didn't get an A, I got a B. Mainly due to the fact that nobody in my group realized that each person in the group had to evaluate every other person in the group... We just turned in a piece of paper saying what each person in the group did for our overall project -- BAM! 0/100. It dropped our final grade from like a 98% to an 83%.

I had Raney last semester, and the class was a joke and the project was easy. My group half assed all of our memos and got full points on all of them. Plus Raney didn't even bother to lecture. He would wizz through the slide shows without really stopping to talk about more than one or two, and then we were done for the day. 15 minutes tops.
Damn. Looks like i really should have taken this last semester, lol. I may still get an A though, my group has been turning in good memos at a great sacrifice of time.
I hear Calc II is ultra-easy this semseter compared to last. And i'm not having too much of a problem with it. A hard be20 class in exchange for an easy Calc II class is a good trade, lol.
But yeah...easy class. We did have to have meetings, but those weren't that bad.
I shrugged off the computer part ot it. I could have taken just the tests and pulled off and A. Then again, I took drafting in high school, and I know how to use Excel.

I am really disappointed by BE20 this semester. All my roommate could talk about last semester was how easy it was and how there wasn't any homework and the memos were a joke. Now this semester Grantham is way to harsh for the significance of the class. The guy that teaches the computer aspect doesn't know what he is doing. I could have taught the Excel part of it. I got a fucking 85 on the Excel test because I didn't format the text right. That is bullshit. I took a whole class on it in high school and got like a 98 in it, and it was much tougher than the shit they are teaching us. Oh well, I am sure they will do some sort of curving to get everyone at or near an A since it is the Basic Engineering Dept.

I believe that is the guy. He is a rather large frat guy. Shows up late every day, always types in the wrong commands while teaching us autocad. Thank god i still remember autocad from HS. Excel wasn't kind to me. Stupid program, i hate comptuers.

Yup... Large, fat, stupid man works. He's in my house. He graduated in December, and decided to come back (I think) as a Met Grad Student. He was telling us all at dinner a couple of weeks ago how he teaches the AutoCAD/Excel part of BE20. Now I know he's incredibly shitty at it... I'll have to laugh at him extra for that one.
