They should make the post-season, but it will be hard with the Astros now having the pitching and hitting they have desired for the last few seasons. As long as Pujols stays healthy and the Cards can find a way to increase the quality of their pitching, they should do very well, I think.

I have to agree with snocat on this one. I'm a die hard Cards fan, but with the Astros having possibly the best starting rotation in the NL Central, the Cubs may actually have one upped them, maybe, and the Astros have a very good offense, even I can't deny that.

The Cards will definitely be in the post season this year, the World Series is a possibility but I wouldn't say its definite. Our starting rotation may be third best in the NL Central. I'm hesitant to really say good they'll be until the season actually starts because its unknown if Williams will be pitching at the start of the season. I also hope they gotten the relief situation figured out this season, because that's what realy, I think, killed them last season.

As for offense and defense, that's never been the Cards problem. Look at all the Gold Glovers they have. Second base and left field are still wide open, but I hope the jobs go to Bo Hart and Ray Lankford. And if Pujols stays health and contiues racking up the numbers that he has since his rookie season, he should damn well get the MVP this year after that travesty last season with Steroids Bonds winning it. Also, other people on offense/defense the Cards need to stay healthy are Rolen, Edmonds, and Renteria. Rolen and Edmonds are the next best two power hitters after Pujols, and Renteria has got to be the damnedest hitter I've seen in the two outs and runners in scoring position situation.

This may be the year for the Cards in the eyes of some, but I don't think so.

eh i think they have a great chance to make the World series for a few reasons

-WE HAVE A CLOSER
that for the first time since dennis Eckersley is reason enough to expect success

-solid rotation
with morris, williams (at some point), Benes, Marquis among the others, this is a promising rotation that rivals the astros and the cubs.... i think that clemens and maddux are past their prime and they aren't the same as before..... especially maddux....

-lineup
with renteria, pujols, rolen, edmonds in the lineup the runs will be put up

-defense
as long as we have matheny, bases won't be taken so runners won't be able to stretch a single into doubles..... and balls don't get away from him..... add that with countless gold gloves and upandcomers like hart, errors will be less common

granted injuries could fuck over any team, so i'm not saying that the cardinals will even make the playoffs, but this is one of the most promising teams for quite some time

pitching, as always, will be the key to their success. with the arms that the cubs and astros have, it'll be tough for the cards to stack up. so we'll see, it'll be a fun season.

actually i dont really care about the cardinals they are a decent team but every time i go to their games they lose, my fav team is the brave and you guys are gonna say you like them becuase they win every year, but actually they were the first professional baseball team I ever went to see, and if i liked a team that won every year it would be the yankees im not suprised to see that you lame morons tried to insult me after you cried in your room after i said the cardinals suck, just becuase someone does not agree with your pathetic ideas does not mean you have to bash the

i know the grammer sucks so go ahead and make some faggot ass comment about that after this is posted

Actually I was making fun of your post because you just stated the obvious without any evidence, which makes you a troll. And the Braves are the winningest team in the last 14 years in the National League. So, if you hate the AL then you probably root for them because they win more than any other team in the NL, and I know quite a few people that like the Braves because they beat up on their subpar home team (like the Rockies).

Actually if you knew anything between 1990 and 2000 they were the winningest team in baseball, the cards dont suck they actually have a decent team, the braves do beat up on sub par teams, who won their division but lost in the playoffs, yeah the braves, and who won the world series the marlins, oh yeah they are in the same division you fuck tard, before you start talking know what you are talkin about, and i dont hate the AL, i like the indians in the AL and they are doin pretty bad right now, and watch the braves win again, even though they lost most of their key players, just stop talking and maybe we will let you keep your dignity
