I would like to know how to use Konquer browser with seek42.

I can use samba to access computers, but when i try to download anything, i get a disconnnect notice.

I can access, the computers and i can see their shares fine. But when i try to download anything i get an error after about 170kB.

thanks.

With all computers, or just particular ones? It's entirely possible that the host computer is running something like NetWatcherPro.

Sounds like everything else is working fine, otherwise.

I don't... I know kde 3.1.4 has a few issues with smb integration... some times it stalls alot. I don't know if that is your issue or not. I have started going to http://seek because they detect that you are running linux and do the smb:// for you instead of using file:\\. I am using mandrake 9.2 (10 is out) and like I said above.. the only problem i get is with stuff stalling sometimes.

some people have fucked up systems and the download will die after a few seconds regardless of whether you are using windows or linux. i dont know if they are doing it on purpose or not.

try using seekant, it is a little smarter and will detect that you aren't using IE and change things accordingly. I know that it will work with konquorer (sp?). Unfortunately not enough people have opted in yet, so it is limitied with the files that it has.

Ugh.

No, seekant was designed to take over Seek42 when Ryan finally leaves.

at any rate, seekant / seek is not allowing any more people to join. in konqueror, just type

smb://<machines ip address>

and it should work just fine. I never had any problems with it under mandrake....

Seek/seekant have nothing to do with you being able to connect to samba shares or not.
