i don't know if there is a place to put these, but in the brief 30 seconds i took to look for it i couldn't find one

what happened to the freaggin wildcard search? i'm trying to find this band called sound<i>somethingsomething</i> and of course i COULD search for <b>sound* - *.mp3</b> and find it in a matter of seconds... but that filename search feature is gone. so instead i have to search for <b>sound " - "</b> and i get search results that are folders, .avis and etc even though i had my search specified for "audio". ... whatever i just want to find this band they were pretty cool!!!!

How about adding 131.151. to the DIPS search box so that I don't have to type it in everytime?

if you wnat to wild card, dont use it, just use what you know of the title

if you wnat to look for a specific file type just use the file type so insetead of *.mp3 use .mp3 or just mp3 or what ever file type

Stuff I want to see:

- An option to delete the CNN news box on the main page.

- Fix the read/unread marker problem.
Reference 1
Reference 2

- Dump all threads over four weeks old in the archives. Preferably automatically every day. FS/WTB posts can probably be deleted.

- Moderators putting the smack down on duplicate, wrong forum, and useless AC posts

- Stickies based off of common questions (DVD ripping/encoding, video codecs, setting up XP/2k filesharing, etc).

- Detach the forums from the search engine.

that's what i did. but see the problem is that i know the beginning of hte filename "sound" and the end of the file name ".mp3". i also know that in the middle there is most likely a " - " in between the band's name and the song title. so i could search for sound* - *.mp3 and get any band that the beginning of their name was "sound" i.e. "soundgarden". but if i just type in "sound - .mp3" i get anything with a "-" (90% of mp3 files) anything with a ".mp3" (limits to mp3 files) and anything with "sound" which is soundgarden, "moth - i see sound.mp3"

but the matter is moot anyway, because the band's name was "STERiogram"

BUT i prefer to use wildcard searches anyway because that's what i've always used

DIPS works both ways, you can put in the computer name, AFS, or the IP. I'm sure there are other entries possible, but those are just the ones i've used, so therefore you wouldn't want to put the 131.151. automatically in front of everything since it would kill the other functions.
