seekn a quik tutorial on virtualdub. i have an avi file (movie), but i just want to take a chunk of it and save that chunk as an avi. I have done that, but the file is like 1.7GB. the original movie is 700MB, ... wtf am i doing wrong.

the help contents for virtualdub were no use. need practical advice. I just want about 15 minutes of this movie to send to my brother. i am assuming it is some sort of display or file settings.

thanks for advice.

Easy fix, under you video menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"

My guess is you have Full Processing Mode selected and some poor codec for your compressor. Let me know if that doesn't work.
