I intend on hosting a few LAN parties this year, so if anyone has one of these that can handle 10/100 connections, and has support for at least 6 computers, I am interested.

If you spend ~$50 you can get a 8-port 10/100 switch online. Makes bulk data transfers much less disruptive to other network traffic. Something like this.

I'll sell you a D-link switch 16 or 24 port (I can't remember) for $50

just wait until the school has their big auction. last time i checked they had huge stacks of hubs they took off the school network.

And they were crappy 10baset.

it doesn't have a brand name on it, it's nothing fancy, that's why it's $20. but, i have used it and it does definitely work.
