Thanks for the post. I (along with pretty much everyone) am appreciative of people that inform me of (virtually) free computer parts. Keep up the good work.

Free stuff is good, but I can't really buy it now anyways...

Maybe post this kind of stuff next summer, and then I will buy computer stuff. :D

having been on the receiving end of the tiger screw before, i'll pass on that one. it's $36.16 with shipping.

i do like newegg, but i don't need the board, and it would sit for probably months before i used it. i did something like that before, and by the time i got around to trying it, it was too late for me to return it. (by chance it happened to be bad.) and the board isn't that great.

and mail can get lost.

but... thanks for the post.
my contribution is a dvd r/rw for $19 + shipping

Regarding that maddog drive; I hear it is a PAIN to get rebates from them. I do not remember why, simply that it was either a huge hassel or dang near impossible to get the rebate. I BELIEVE it had something to do with having to register your product before being eligible to recieve the rebate, but don't quote me on that.

We could all use more hard-drive space thanks to seek42. CompUSA has a great 200GB PATA-100 E-IDE 7200 RPM drive for $90 after rebate. 45cents per gig is pretty cheap.

I bought a 200GB drive from compUSA a few weeks ago for $90, and then a 160GB for $60 last week.
