This isn't exactly a game but it would definitely give you more exercise then sitting and playing computer games all day...

I had a friend tell me about a game he played at another campus called Fugitive. You basically have someone drop someone a mile or so off campus and have a couple car loads of guys hunt them down.

It's fun if you have someone taping it to record people's reactions while you have a gang of guys bum rush the person in public, beat him down and throw him in a trunk.

More fun than that, by far, was a game they used to play in the Res Halls called Assassins. If they didn't do that again this year then the freshmen missed out. Basically there was a sign-up, then the players were randomly assigned to "kill" eachother with anything soft and spongy. So you were assigned someone, but someone else was assigned to kill you. As you killed your target, you were then given their target, until one man is standing. Usually took about a week, quite a rush chasing someone through campus.

I don't think any version of Assassins has ever ended.

Can you sneak up on your target or do you have to call out assassination or something before you begin chasing them down?

i played my freshman year (this is my fifth year) and the rules were such:

each person drew a name at random. you may or may not know this person, it's up to you to find out about them (ie, stalk).

you must use something soft (nerf gun, paper wads, rolled up socks, etc) to kill your target. when you kill your target, you take over their target. the circle draws ever smaller until you are hunting your hunter.

you are safe in the following locations: your domicile (your bedroom/dorm room), any bathroom/restroom, class (classrooms after class is dismissed is fair game), work, and church. if you invite your assassin into your room, they can kill you there. once any part of you or your weapon is outside a safe area, you are vulnerable.

to verify that you killed your target, you show them the printed email from the person running the game, showing their name. then you take the email they had and acquire your new target.

if you've been killed, you can be hired as a hit man by someone else, ie they know you're after them so they aren't watching out for the guy you just killed. in this case, the hit man and the assassin each get half a point.

it was a lot of fun, i remember killing a few people, and getting killed. i actually moved out of the dorms into a frat for a week, so people wouldn't be able to find me. i had a bodyguard by the name of jim houx. he didn't go to class anyway (dropped out and went to another college and said it sucked, then came back to UMR and straightened up) so he followed me around and took hits for me, scoped out places, etc. finally, my assassin threw a couple handfuls of paper wads at me (like a shotgun) and i was hit.

Me (Matt, 701) and Jon Reinagel (RA of 7NW) are heading up a TJ only assassins, and there will be a Quad only assassins as well, look for announcements about it soon.

dangit, this residence hall only assassins stuff isn't nearly as fun. Get the whole campus together and do one big game. Quad did team assassins last semister and it wasn't very fun at all (partly because not very many people signed up). TJ has a big advantage because they have 18 huge floors of people. we have 5 tiny buildings.

Basically, Quad assassins is gonna suck again this year if they do it like that.

I'd rather play fugitive.

I don't know about everybody else, but when Ryan was running assassins for TJ, it was a lot more organized. When they tried the same program last year, it was a mess.
