Post subject: A deeper look into counter strike; PLEASE read.

OK. First I feel it is urgent that i esplain myself a little bit. I wrote an essay a couple days ago about how counter stirke is changing right now, i understand it was short and poorly put together but i was pressed for time and as any author would do it is necessary to put out some feelers and see what your audience is like. Now I am ready to do the job right and look a little deeper into the game. I find that what i am about to say is on the tip of eveyone elses tounge, and this place looks like a brreding ground for new fresh idea for games. everyone wants to hear about it and this is the place to do it. i envision that this will be one of the most in-depth posts ever to hit seek 42. Do not mind the length; it is an easy read.
First of all it is obvious that counter strike is popular among gamers because its not so plished like all hte other games out there. counter strike is rough around the edges, lets admit it people. its almost like all the other games out there are anti aliased and this one is pixaleted (if the analogy makes sense). it seems that many games on the market today walk the user step by step through on how to do things; but counter strike you are left out in the open and you figure out how to do it yourself which is defnitely a good thing. I would have to say, and you will agree that the conosle is the biggest part of this its like DOS. how many games are leet enough that you use DOS to play it? Yes yes yes there are many games with a console; the purpose of this eessay is not to argue what gmaes have a console. I'm saying that counter strike is special because it actually takes some thinking to use. It is interseting to note that really anything you do in the game can be done through console; for ease of use we "bind" these actions to easy-to use bttons on the 'puter. So really, ideally you can just play iin the console and sit there and go "+duck +attack1 +left" all day to get the job done; but that is impossible...but you get what I am saying.
Now i will talk of wapons.
AK47 is one of the most leet guns in the game. it has 30 rounds per clip. However one thing i would like to point out about the AK is that many beginners think automatic is better...it is NOT. Just because a gun fires rapidly IN NO WAY means that it is an instant win gun. Really, to get good use out of the AK, you have to shooti n bursts, unlike many noobs who spray everwhere and usually don't even hit the target. pathetic. anyway...the key is to crouch and shoot a couple bursts little by little, this is more efficient
M4 is my favorite. I feel it gives more accuracy than the AK plus it has a silencer, i don't know why, you may know why or you may not, it doesn't matter but its just one more element in the realism of the game. It too falls under the "automatic is better" cliche, but it appears that it is less strict on noob who sprays everyhwere.
M3 okay this is a tricky one. some people call THIS one the noob tube when it is NOT. it has no long range use, it takes forever to shoot (so if you miss you are screwed). so its only good use is long range, but if you miss you're screwed so you have to be good with it. This gun is used among leet players.
AUTO SHOTTY WHY IS THIS GUN IN THE GAME. its terrible in that noobs are drawin to it and its adequately called the "noob tube" or the "noob cannon." have you ever spectate in fy_pool_day (where i feel this problem is the worst, i'll get to that later) and you see that one noob running in circles, blasting away and then you hear the annoying 7 clicks relaoding. what really is annoying is when users thing they're good because they are 3 and 1 with the noob tube. it takes no skill to use it, stop bragging, it is not a sign of skill. And then they get mad at you when you poitn that out to them. ANyway....
SMGs these things are like miniature noob tubes, so see above paragrpah.
There are some new weapons in CS 1.6, I don't know what they are. I do know however that the auto sniper is much easier to be a noob with in 1.6. In 1.5, it was actually leet if you got a point with it because it was hard to use but now its basically a point and win gun and is stupid. AWP, well there are too many posts about the AWP already so why get into it.
Now I would like to take some time to discuss some maps:
de_aztec what where they thinking when the changed the best map ever. it looks so dreary now. theres stupid lights everywhere and the T spawn point is weirdl ooking but at least tey didn't change the traffic patter on onf the map.
cs_siege this map is way underrated. It used to be so leet but nobody plays it anymore. Its a lot like cs-militia, people sometimes play that...but siege has its own charaversic that make it a cool map to play..espeically the outside part with the little building that the T's can get to through the tunnel... but anyway this map is practically off the board.
fy_maps in general: these maps are good if you're tired of playing big maps with 10v10, then you're dead but waiting for the last guy on your team to quit camkping so i new reand can start, and alghough many people disagree, they are on an entirely different spectrum in 1.6. Yes, indeed, maybe there was the same anoutnt of fy maps before but they are so easily accesed now OMG. OK first of all in 1.5 you had to know the name of the map and serach for it, be that from a friend, LAN, or a website you found. but like if you went to a website and downloaded a custom map chances are NO one else was playing it. but now you just type in "fy" in the search thing on steam and you are opened up to an entiredly new thing of maps to find.
So thats the jist of what CS is like, and provides a view of where it came from and where it is going. now if I may be so bold as to suggest a few improvements that should be in 1.7:
cs_estoria - an exact replica of the hit 80s film kindergarted cop. you can be detective john kimble VIP and aid the CTs in defusing the bomb. he was a bad dude in the movie so im sure he would come with a defusal pack by DEFAULT. and it would have vehicles, like the 1986 cutleass ciera he drove in the movie.
rope you have to have rope to climb walls. it would really help like in cs_estate where the CTs have to climb that wall.
OK. Hopefully many of you enjoyed this in depth look into CS. I looked at where it came from, what it is now, and where it could go in the future.

This has to be the worst idea for a map ever.
