Is anyone familiar with the Lotus 7? Also known as the Locost? Well I have always wanted to build one, so if you are interested let me know. For more information check out cmcmotors.com. Another option would be to design a completely new car as well. Sounds ambitious but it can be done. Let me know.[/url]

I cannot believe no one is interested. I was thinking along the lines of a bike powered, Mini. Just email me or something.

Im not sure what you are asking of other people. Are you asking for them to help pay for it, or just help you work on it from time to time?

I will be more than happy to help with a project like that just for the experience.... I am pretty good at everything except the mechanical aspect. I've always wanted to design and build my own street legal rail car or dune buggy only with a nice fiberglass body.

I'm asking for anyone who has ever been interested in something such as this to help in any way, be it financial, design or fabrication. I can line up a driveline for the car rather quickly. I just want some ideas different than mine to see where this goes. But I mean what would be really cool is if everyone involved could build a car and we would all help build each others car. So I guess in that case each person would pay for their own. I know everybody has plenty of time to do something like this

Also Lee I am the one that emailed you about working on your DSM with you. I just want to work on and build cars anyway possible. And maybe even start a company of it someday, so take a risk and do something you have always wanted to do.

i've always thought about doing something like that. Just build a small go cart like body, and even the tiniest 4 banger would make the thing fly.

I'd help you if I could, but sadly, I can't.

fuck the solar car...that thing is slow....try something that really uses the engineering and fabricating skills of a real car....formula 1 style. it might help you learn a few things about building a car before you just randomly start fabrication. http://web.umr.edu/~formula

i'd be more than willing to start building one of these...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 34034&rd=1

you can get one for around $200-250 depending on how much you look around. a car is too big a project, requires too much money... i have a couple hundred to 'throw' this bike though.. if it gets any more expensive, i'd rather buy one. post whatever you think of the idea.

I undertook the wise advice of many friends and decided that even though the 6-bolt in a GS would be cool the $$ involved would be pointless. That would be taking my N/A and merely turning it into a gs-t anyway. I got something better  I have just purchased a 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX!! I can't wait to get started on it. I'm considering buying a crate motor ready to go from fasterthanyou.com and doing a custom turbo setup... I think there will be quite a few of us working on it mostly on weekends. If you want to help out at all you're more than welcome, free beer! Right now I'm going to start by painting in black, putting some gunmetal 17" wheels on it w/ polished lips, etc.... I'm gonna leave it mostly stock looking and do what I can to make it lose some weight. Hit me up sometime 573-259-7047 or email me webmaster@cobblestonelodge.com

Next weekend I'm putting another 420a back into the GS....lol
