I know there are some soccer fans out there so post your favorite team, why you like them, and how they are doing. If a team is already posted, show support for that team by telling what you like about them. Also if you know of any game times and places where we can hear or see these games post that also.

My favorite team is Manchester United from England. I like this team alot because my dad is really into them; seeing how he is from Manchester England and he brought me up to be a big fan of them.

Stats on Manchester United:

10.) Manchester United
5 games played ; 1 win; 3 draws; 1 loss; 5 goals for; 5 goals against ; 0 Goal Difference ; 6 points total

Injuries:
5 injured players

Player-Injury-Expected Return
Saha-knee-No Return Date
G Neville-fractured knee cap-Oct. 24 2004
O'Shea-thigh strain-Sept. 25 2004
Rooney-Fractured Metatarsal-Oct. 3 2004
Solskjaer-knee-July 2005

Key transfers and pickups:

In: Wayne Rooney (Everton, £20,000,000); Guiseppe Rossi (Parma, undisclosed); Gerard Pique (Barcelona, undisclosed), Liam Miller (Glasgow Celtic, free), Alan Smith (Leeds United, £7m); Gabriel Heinze (Paris SG, £6.9m); Ricardo (Racing Santander, loan return)

Out: Diego Forlan (Villarreal, undisclosed); Luke Chadwick (West Ham, free); Mark Lynch (Sunderland, free); Ben Williams (Released); Neil Wood (Released); Danny Pugh (Leeds United, swap); Daniel Nardiello (Barnsley, season-long loan); Nicky Butt (Newcastle, £2m); Michael Stewart (Hearts, loan)

Next game:

Wednesday September 15th at 1:15 p.m. vs Lyon at Gerland Stadium

You can hear this game on Radio at (hope it works haven't tried it)http://www.manutd.com/access/matchtracker/muradio.sps?pageid=46&ion=false

You need Real Player to access it but you can get that on seek.

Also if you can't catch the game because you have class I will be posting a recording of it in my shared folder.

Galatasaray (Turkey)

They are doing really good up to now (4 wins 1 loss) in Turkish super league. Unfortunately, they couldn't qualify for this years European Championships. Also this is 100th year of the club. (est. 1905)

Fenerbahce (another Turkish team) will play against Manchester United which probably you know already. I belive they will give United all sorts of problems. Sorry to say that but Manchester will not go far in this season.

You can't be good every year, but I think they still got a chance. Their off to a slow start but they should have everyone back except Solskjaer middle of October. And that includes Rooney! That was a big pick up for the team.

I don't know much about turkish teams but I'll look into them. If you could, could you post some stuff about Galatasaray. I don't know much about that team and was looking to broaden my horizons a little. Thanks.

When do Fenerbahce play Manchester? I heard they were playing yeah but I don't know when. I'm sure it will be a good game either way it goes.

hi,

The game between Fenerbahce and Manchester is on September 28th, 2004 20:45 (CET). In 1996, Fenerbahce ended Manchester united's 40 year long unbeaten home record. Well, I don't belive we will be that lucky this time, but it will be an interesting game for sure. And it is the second game of the champions league groups phase 1 for both teams (Fenerbahce won, Manchester draw). You can follow the results, schedule, etc. at http://www.uefa.com which is the offical website of european football association or something.

You are right, Rooney will serve Manchester for a long time and I belive with Ruud, they will be one hell of a goal scoring duo.

I can give you the official Galatasaray web site address. http://www.galatasaray.org
they have english section, so don't worry :)

So a big soccer fan are you? But you keep leaving anonymous posts. I would appreciate knowing sorta who you were so I could get a hold of ya.
Are you here on campus? Would you be interested in watching games with a few guys once a week? Where are you located at, what year are you? All these things I would like to know, get back to me. So far we have a group of 4 guys willing to watch games, if you know anyone that likes soccer tell them about it also. Thanks.

My most favorite player is of course Zidane and then Ronaldo. It's pretty obvious why I like them. That's the reason I like watching their games. Well, I like MANU as well. I usually watch games from soccerstreams or http://www.uefa.com(reruns-but you have to subscribe), and one ch league game from espn2. By the way I have a few Euro 2004 games that I downloaded. The best game I couldn't get was England vs Portugal. I was going to get FSW so that I can watch Premiership games.
