I have some virus or somethin that destroyed my windows and some file named ntoskrnl.exe has been corrupted or is missing. I am wondering if anyone knows how to fix it or if they have a XP CD that I could use to try and repair it. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or have the CD.
Thanks

well a cd can be obtained easily, seek42 and a blank cd+burner...
as for reinstalling windows without file loss, boot from the cd
first window appears, press enter
second windows, press f8
third or fourth window it searches for previous installs, finds the one on your c?: drive, gives you the optiuons of esc for new install or r to repair
press r, itll deleate the files its gonna replace and nothing else, the standard windows install is put back on after you go through the process of cpying and setting up the install files, itll look alot like the orginal install stuff only it skips a few steps, like cdkey user name computer name and workgroup etc... its quite simple and takes like an hour something depending on your comptuer
if you have any problems feel free to ask, ive got math from 6-7 tonight but then ill be back for the rest of tonight.....
gj ac its a pay to see the answer site
oh another thing u might try its something as simple as safe mode, sometimes this will let you pass the error

OK THanks
I'll try the burning a disk off seek
I tried the safe mode thing and thats when it gave me the error and said to reinstall a copy of the file.
If I have any problems, i might try and get ahold of you.
Thank again
