I have a 160GB Western Digital Harddrive on a controller card. The drive works fine except for when I try to copy or move files from one partition to another or try to copy files from seek to anywhere on the drive I get a delayed write failure error and the information is lost I cant figure it out.

Yeah, it's either IDE or SATA, and from the problems it sounds like a SATA. Not sure what your problem is but you can always try and google it, lol.

Double check that your drive is working well. Go to the Western Digital Website and download the WDdiags and run them. That will ensure your drive and interface work correctly. After that, it sounds like you need to check your computer for other sources of errors.

I've never had a problem with my Promise ATA controller card.

Same with the SIIG in my server. It has a 120GB WD Caviar SE attached and it has no problem... at least under linux. That machine hasn't had windows loaded on it, and it's not going to (pentium MMX 200 mhz with 64 mb ram).
