i was wondering if anyone has full versions of any program's that would help recover my information? there is nothing on seek after 30 min of looking. i have looked at some free ones that i down loaded but they have limits on there file size or you can save your files and the other ones cost like 30$ or more.... either way i was wondering if anyone has any good advice or a full version i could borrow.

spikes

thanx

Um, filesystem, size, amount of lost data, you know, little things that might be helpful to know?

Short anwser is you're probably hosed. What did you format it with? FAT32? NTFS? Scratch that, *why* did you format it?

still if anyone has any programs on seek or know any that they would recomend me checking out, also could you list them and your rating on them or what you used them for....

Have you used anything to try to get it back. Did you try getdataback, Norton? or any other regular data recovery tool. When you did your format on your USB drive was a quick format or a regular one? How much have you written to the drive sense the last format.
If you did a quick format, and formatted the drive to the same (or similar size) getdataback should get most of you files for you.

(FYI you do not need to format your hard drive when your system files go bad in fat32. In my opinion you really never need to format your drive unless you are specifically wishing to change your file system from one thing to another. But that does not help you much now)

Recently Jube's harddrive bit the dust and he used some program to recover data. Whatever it was he used, he got back stuff he had formatted over multiple times. He's out of town this weekend but I'll ask him when he gets back.

Just wondering if you found a solution yet?

I've had similar troubles recently, in the past I've used a program called "Easy Recovery Professional" made by "OnTrack". I've had mixed results it will recover any file that's ever been on that drive...only problem is that sometimes the files it recovers aren't usable. Anywho...good luck.
