I have an EXTREMELY important file on a disk that my computer can read anymore for some God-Forsaken reason. Is there software or something out there that can grab the image of the disk or that can recover files on it?

I put a file on it just fine about a month ago, but now it says it isn't formatted...

Try a different computer and/or floppy disk. I had the same problem til a week ago when I realized that I had knocked the cable loose.

I tried another computer, but I have the same problem, and all the wires are tight.

The floppy might have gone bad and as far as I can tell. Could of been some sort of magnet or something that had caused this. I'm afraid to tell you that you have most likely have lost the file.

shadowcat you might try File Scavenger i believe newest version is 2.1 it is shareware so you might need a crack/serial for it. . .but it might work for you. . . i know it is supposed to recover data from corrupted floppies good luck btw just GOOGLE it you should get plenty of places to DL it
