All right people, the internet here has gotten ridiculous. Worse than dialup. This is for you leeches out there that are sucking up the bandwidth like the antidote is in it. Stop running your FTP servers and stop downloding and uploading 50 gigs a day. Go outside\to class. Especially you freshman who have dialup at home and as soon as you got here you go OH GAWD this internet is LEET so i'll download everything i can find.

You people (you know who you are) can do better.

actually my internet at home was roughly 4xs faster then here....

Settle down. Don't act like you didn't start downloading everything you could find as soon as you had the bandwidth to do so. Besides, the connection here can't be slower than dail-up. Have you been on dial-up recently? If you had, you wouldn't be complaining. If you really think this is worse than dail-up, then get dail-up and brag about your 56k connection to everyone in Rolla.

It's one thing when you game online, and you get some lag. It's a totally different thing when it takes 20 seconds for a web page to load that has no extra images within.

Was doing that to me today. Timed out connected with Hotmail. Is pretty sad. But, it happens. Switch to the UMR dial-up if you can't take it, or else shut up.

i never said i couldn't deal with it, i'm just supporting what blind melon had stated. sure, dial up blows, i had that back home for 6 years. so yea, it's still a whole lot better than dial up, but not quite as quality as it could be.

isnt FTP blocked from off campus? i know you can FTP from w/in the network, but i dont think anyone offcampus and FTP in and get shit... i could be wrong though. my opinion is its caused by P2P programs that are left on all the time (which is a bad idea. the RIAA and others watch those)

I know you it's easy to upload from campus to an off campus FTP...don't know about accessing an on campus FTP from off campus.
