Being Greek is not as easy as living in the dorms. Joining a house requires work, whereas living in the dorms does not. The Greek houses have to do a lot of work setting up for and tearing down and cleaning up parties. They have give sober rides and do other work for the parties. I see no reason why the dormies should get to come over and get a free ride when all the greeks work for the parties.
Seriously, shut up. You are the kind of ignorant person that thinks you're above everybody else. I am Greek, but I don't think I work harder than the dormies. In fact, I am one of the laziest slobs in the world. You are such a fag, and I hope your little comment doesn't start a shitton of replies that are just as retarded.
I am going to have to disagree with you. I don't know what house you are from, but I worked my ass off when I was pledging and all during my freshman year. Where I am from, you actually have to earn your way in, you can't just move in and do absolutely nothing. I am no longer a freshman, so I don't have to do that anymore, but I still had to put in my time. BTW being a sober driver sucks, you give up your entire night so that everyone else can have fun and be safe. It IS unfair when people just benefit from your work, and didn't contribute anything themselves ever.
that is retarded. parties aren't about who "deserves" to go. They aren't just a privledge to those who put in "their time" too. Parties are just to have fun, it's college. Of course it's a lot of work to host a party, i've cleaned up shit after parties and done tons of sober driving, but that has nothing to do with who should be allowed. The only reason why dormies aren't allowed in Greek parties is because we get screwed when people get picked up by the cops for drinking, and say they were at our party. The greek id's are just to remove liability from the fraternity (see greeks vs. dormies forum). I agree that dormies should not be allowed to go to the parties, but for the liability reason ONLY. We're all in rolla - there's absolutely nothing to do - there's no reason why we shouldn't party together, other than because of the damn liablity.
Word. This post is in reply to the post before the last one. I worked my ass off to get in my house, but I am not selfish. If you think you have it harder, learn that life is not always fair. For the rest of your life you will have people benefitting from your work, even if they don't deserve to. It's the way things work...humans help each other. I used to live in the dorms, and now I am in a house. Don't lecture my on how being a sober driver sucks. Every single fraternity member knows exactly what it's like. There are plusses and minuses to both dorms and fraternities. One is not superior, except maybe in your narrow mind. I think you are just being a little bitch with a small penis. Stop crying and grow up. Shit, negro.
I am the IFC vice-president. The rules for parties are as follows.
To get into a greek party you must have a greek id, be on a house list or be on the guest list. If you are on a list the you must have a photo id.
These parties are supposed to be for all greeks and their guests. If you are a "dormie" you can still go to these parties as long as you are on a guest list. But houses are only allowed so many guests though, and they must submit their guestlist at least 24hrs before the party. This is strictly for liability.
A house can get in trouble if they do not keep track of who is at their parties.
So if you are a dormie, then just talk to somebody greek and have them put you on their house's guest list
Having to do all the work...Wow, that sucks. I'm in a fraternity, and I have never done any work that was any more than anyone else. When I was a freshman I remember times where I was cleaning sinks, and my president was scrubbing the toilets. The only extra work I put in I volunteer for. Like right now I am the philanthropy chairman at my house. I have extra things to do, but it is because I want to. I don't believe in hazing. I am very strongly against it, and so are 99% of the house in which I live. If anyone ever tried to haze me or will ever try I tell them to "Fuck off!" I don't believe that you can treat someone like shit or like they are that much lower than you for an entire semester, and then turn around, and call them "brother." Where is the logic in that.

Judging by this weeks crime blotter, there seems to be some group that thinks it's acceptable...

I think thats BS. You are generalizing all people in fraternities by the actions of one fraternity. If thats acceptable, I think you are a vampire because of course everyone in TJ is a comp sci who hangs out in CS213. Generalization sucks, and so do you.
It sounds as if the dormies are pissed off again and they need the comfort of their mothers tit. This reminds me of the time that TJ had that awesome party. o wait that has never happend. Well I will continue on with my partying and I wish all you dormie fags good luck at you Gayquest aka Everquest, fags.
