Seriously though, I'll probably end up buying it, but not at the debuting $50 like all the other games. If a game comes out at a cheap and reasonable price (i.e. all of the ESPN sports games this year -- NFL 2k5, NHL 2k5, NBA 2k5, etc. -- all debuted at $19.99) then I'm more than happy to buy it. But I don't like wasting my money just because some game developers are really greedy bastards.

Microsoft claims that the leak wasnt that big, and theyre already shutting it all down. Supposedly theyre finding out who did it, and prosecuting it as web theft for anyone who gets it/has it. In my opinion, its worthless how games always get leaked...especially an xbox game...and sadly enough, halo 2 doesnt even look like that great of a game.

oh yeah...and without live...what fun will that be...

according to a story on fark from the bbc, the version that is leaked is the french version. oh well, I can make out enough french to figure out how to play it.

Halo 2 is one of those programs where I would learn enough french to be able to use it this early. Mainly because the extent that I would have to learn is just the menu options.

You guys are all so ridiculous..."id learn french just to play halo 2 this early"...that may be the gayest thing ive ever heard in my life...halo 2 is too hyped, its gonna be a huge letdown, mainly because they ruined EVERYTHING good in it, made shitty weapons more powerful, and made unreal tournament style maps

Dude Frisket, settle down. It's not like you have to learn French to play the game. The mnemonics of the language are very similar to English. Besides all you really need to do is be able to navigate the menus. I hope that is not beyond your intellect even if it is in French. As far as the game goes who knows if its good or not. I agree that it looks like they took a lot of the features that made Halo Halo out of the game, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in playing the game to see if its any good. If I can play it early then sure I'm gonna do it.

I think you may have the definition of your words mixed up. Gay is one guy having sex with another guy, this could be considered sad, geeky, or possibly nerdish. And how do you know it is over hyped? You played it yet? Because I don't see how you could possibly make a fair comparison without actually playing Halo and Halo 2. But thats just from where I see it.

Ok, so I'm not trying to say I dont want the game either, I'm just afraid to get disappointed.. from what I have seen of it, it's not the game I was hoping for. It's not halo, it seems a little more fast paced than it should be, thats all. Maybe I'm just a little frustrated that it got leaked too, that just ruins everything...even though it may be a French version, but still...ruins it...just my opinion

I don't intend playing the single player, just the multi....where it doesn't really matter if the audio is french or not. Also, you can subtitile it in english.

personally, I've read little to nothing about Halo 2....possibly because I'm currently enjoying being scared out of my mind in Doom3....or possibly because I'm currently playing CS: Source. Not to mention the fact that I can't wait to get my pre-ordered copy of Half-Life 2! Oh and did I mention that I've been head over heels in love with Tribes: Vengence?

All that aside, I'll probably play Halo 2 on my friends Xbox when it comes out....and I thing I can wait long enough to not have to play some gay french version(because anything french is GAY). I do have one thing that I hope got changed from the original....the whole fact that you WALK no matter what. I mean, am I the only one annoyed by this? I'm EVERY shooter that has come before that(and that's a lot of shooters) has had the player running through most of the game. Come on, you ran in Doom! Let me ask you Halo fanatics something: Hypotheticly, if you had someone coming at you with a Warthog and a gunner firing at you, would you merely "walk for your life"? Or if someone threw a grenade; would you walk to get out of the way? I think I've more than made my point....

your speed is sensitive to the distance you push the control stick. All the way forward and you are running, only a little forward and you're walking. Granted it's still a "run" animation...but the speed is different.
