I just did a test at bandwidthplace and got 58.4 kb/sec...........thats practically 56k and very very sad. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just my house?

I did one here in Kelly and got 24K Thats fucking insaine. I am complaining to HIRC about this shit. I pay for "high speed" internet access when I pay to live ON Campus in these firetraps they call dorms.

I sugest we mobalize all the students here in rolla and demand a 1mb connection all the time for all students!!!!

i remember getting something like. .. 1000kbps (on a bandwidth test page) in the past. peopel have always been downloading shit this isn't anything new. why is it slow now when it was fast in the past?

If you are here durring the Summer there are no caps on bandwidth and once I was downloading at 8Mbps.

It used to be higher, because we used to have less people downloading less things and playing less games. We have 4 versions of CS that are played. More MMORPGs are out now than ever. Add shit like p2p, torrents, and stuff like that, and that kills it even more.

Like I said. Stop with the torrents and p2p programs, and that will help. If you need to find something that's not on the network, tough cookies. Download it when you go home, since you CAN't put a POST somewhere to ASK to see if ANYONE else HAS IT or anything.

I've had a huge drop here in our house.

Normally I'm around 1800-2300kbps year-round, but now I'm only getting 190kbps. That's nearly a 90% drop of bandwidth then what we normally get.

Yeah, there are more people who download stuff. Seek hasn't been as strong as it was a couple years ago, but that's pretty damn sad how slow it's gotten.

I can set up to download a couple movies while watching a movie, and they're done by the time I'm ready to watch them. That's all I need. I don't stream (other than like for 10 seconds to check quality), so the lack of bandwith doesn't piss me off. Most games out there don't take up that much bandwith really, so people who bitch need to just get their thumbs outta their ass and shut the fuck up

wow dude, get a life, seriously.... Obviously there are some people that agree with me that bandwidth has diminished during this year. File sharing apps have been around for a while now, so that doesnt explain the sudden drop this year. Also, my post was to see if other people were having the same problem as myself, because if they werent then i would know it was a problem with our house and not the network(and thus being able to fix the network at my house).
